Dr. Hakam Agha
Hakam is a co-founder and the CEO of the spin-off company Trace Crystal, selling anti-counterfeiting and track-and-trace solutions using a different material that is also based on cholesteric liquid crystal. With a solid background in liquid crystal physics followed by several years in business development, Hakam is the ideal person to spearhead our initiative to bring the Structural Health Monitoring solutions based on the REVEAL materials to market.

Dr. Tarik Camo
Tarik completed his Ph.D. in civil engineering in January 2025 and works as a consultant in structural engineering and infrastructure assessment. He is a certified bridge inspector and has been involved in the development of the solution for Structural Health Monitoring since the very beginning.

Dr. Rijeesh Kizhakidathazhath
Rijeesh is the organic chemist of the REVEAL team and he is one of the co-inventors of our material. With a long background in liquid crystal synthesis and applied liquid crystal polymer development, Rijeesh is always ahead of the game in designing the right materials for every application. He is working closely together with Yong to ensure that material and deposition procedures are well adapted to each application.

Dr. Yong Geng
Together with Jan, Yong is the key physicist on the REVEAL team and he is a co-inventor of the material. Yong has a long background in liquid crystal and polymer physics and since his Ph.D. days he has specialized in cholesteric liquid crystals. In the REVEAL project Yong works closely with Rijeesh to ensure that the optical quality of final coating or fibers are tuned to ensure optimum performance in every application scenario.

Yosuke Pestana Nakamura
Yosuke's Ph.D. research project is centered around the REVEAL materials, both in fiber and in coating form. His primary focus is on the application of the materials in strain sensing for robotics, but he has followed the REVEAL project's development across its full spectrum since his days as an M.Sc. student.

Dr. Jan Lagerwall
Jan is professor at the University of Luxembourg, where he leads the Experimental Soft Matter Physics group which specializes in liquid crystal-based soft matter physics, both from fundamental science and applied perspectives. He is a co-inventor of the REVEAL material and he is also a co-founder of the company Trace Crystal. Jan was the principal investigator of the ERC Proof-of-Concept grant REVEAL which took the first steps in bringing the fruits of the ESMP group's research to market in the context of Structural Health Monitoring and smart textiles.
